No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"Plenty of features at this price, but I am really struggling to take crispy photos.
At first I suspected DIS(image stabilisation) wasn't working properly on my model and went back to the retailer to compare it against other models, but experienced the same low quality ito blur and a "grainy" look on pictures.
The only good photos I achieve is when taking photos under ideal conditions (good light and with the camera held still or mounted).
It would also have helped if I was able to set ISO and long time exp in DIS and some of the other modes.
Colour gets recorded well, but when I zoom in, even just a little, the pictures appear to have unusually visible artifacts."

Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Did not meet expectations, motion detection/stability very poor, forget about sharp photos
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
